Post 8: English Language Challenges

 Hi everyone,

This time I address to the miss, and I just want to say thank you,  I really think that thanks to the way that you teach I've learned a lot. I never used the blog before but I found it really helpful. The listenings were also I challenge for me, because you usually don't hear people with an accent, and it helped to improve my english.

I think my weakness is the writing, because they don't write it the way that you hear it, so it's kind of difficult for me because some of the word have very little changes. I'm planing to read more in english and keep a diary so I can practice.

Outside the class I try to improve my english by watching movies without the subtitles, or watch youtubers that are native english so I practice with the actual speed that they usually talk.

I wish you a happy holidays and all the best for the future, thanks again.

Post 7: Changes to your Study Program

 Hi everyone,

Today I'll talk about changes that I would made to my study program. First I think that the music careers are way too long, ones a heard a teacher that said that we needed all those years to get to be a really good musician, but I don't think so, because in other countries, where it last 4 years (here is 8 years, or more), you can see amazing musicians, so a really don't think it should last that long. About the program itself, I think it is okay, we do get all the information that we need, but there are some useless subjects, all they do is make the career even longer, so if I could, I would cut them off.

When it comes to the infrastructure it's just bad, I mean it could be worst, but most of the things in the classroom are really old, or they don't work, and the soundproofing between rooms it's not the best either.  I think this is the weakness part of the faculty, because the teachers, excluding some particular cases, are really good, I think they are the best thing that the university has.

In my particular case the teaching methods have worked, but for some of my classmates haven't, so I don't really know what to say about that,

Besides all that I do love my career and I'm grateful for some of the teachers that I met through the years.

Thanks for reading.

Post 6: Time Travel to the Future

Hi everyone,

It is difficult for me to imagine just one future and I'm a little pessimistic, or realistic if you prefer. I think that, one possible future would be like Wall-E, full of garbage, an earth where is not possible to live, and where we are going to build spaceships and leave the earth.

I think this is a very possible future, if we keep this road, and the human keep killing everything that we think it belong to us. Nature is dyiing, that is the truth. I just hope there is something we can do about it.
There is another one, where we are going to depend on the technology, but not like in a good way, I don't know if this is possible or not, but if we keep on develop this "smart" technology, it could happen
It could take control if we are not careful.
In any case, I wouldn't like to go there, If it is like I imagine, or maybe I'm just watching to much TV, but I rather not to risk.
Besides my family and friends are here, right now, so a don't need anything else.

Post 5: My future job.

 Hi everyone,

The job that I would really like to have is definitely working in big theaters, singing as a solist, doing roles, being able to perform all that beautiful music that I love, definitely NOT in an office, I want to travel a lot if it is possible, and get to know other different cultures, especially Europe, because almost every opera composer is from there, so that would be my number one continent, and when I get old I imagine myself teaching all the things that I learned through the years, and I know that, that is probably far away, but I'm already in 4th year so, I just hope it happens someday.

I think my biggest goal is  to perform a role in a theater, I don't really need anything else.

Post 4: A person I would like to meet

 Hi everyone,

Today I'll tell you about Lisette Oropesa, who is an opera singer from the US, the reason I would really like to meet her is because she had sung some of the greatest roles for soprano, such as Gilda, Lucia di Lammermoor, Violetta Valery, and many others in some of the greatest opera houses.

I think she is going to be one of the best opera singers of the century for sure, and besides she seems to be a really nice person, she's  always doing these videos to help other singers so they can understand the technique, the music and the roles, also she speaks 4 languages! I'm a fan!, totally fan!, if someday I get to have a master class or something with her I would be really happy, because you can tell that she really wants you to learn, so I hope that day comes eventually, but for now I'll be content just  by listening to her.

There is another person that I'd love to meet, Sabine Devieilhe, a French opera singer, this woman has the voice of an angel, it's amazing, she does the light roles, really high and agile. They are definitely the best combo, and she seems really friendly as well. These two amazing women are my inspiration.

Post 3: A day to remember

Hi everyone,

Today I'll tell you about my day to remember, it was about 6 years ago, I was part of the chorus of my school and we had this big competition at the Municipal Theater of Santiago, where different schools from all over the country went to participate, the theater was full of people, the students were on the stalls and the boxes, and the parents were on the balcony. We get there on a bus early in the morning and we saw a lot of other choruses. In the intermission one of my friends said that it was my birthday, which was true, but I didn't care because that day wasn't just for me, it was for all of us. Well, long story short, they started singing for me, THE WHOLE THEATER!! at least 500 voices singing happy birthday to me, and I was in the middle of the stalls, it was beautiful, I still remember the sound, because they did it on tone, with harmony and everything. Besides, that day we won the first place in the competition, so it is definitely a day to remember.

Post 2: The best concert.

Hi everyone,

In my case it wasn't a concert, it was a performance of "La Bohéme" at the Municipal Teather of Santiago in 2016. I remember I went with one of my best friends, Namy, and also that, when we left it was late at night so there was almost no one on the street, and so we star singing like they did in the opera all over the center of Santiago, imitating their voices like two crazy people, it was super fun.
But it's not only for that, that  it was special, because until that moment I didn't knew what I want it to do with my life. I always liked to sing but neves actually consider to live for that, but when i saw the stage, the costume, the theather, and heard the music I felt in love with it, and knew that I want it to be one of them some day, that's why I'm studying this career. So it was a super fun night, and also lead me to this moment, that's why this is a performance that I'll never forget.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that day, but I found one online:
